Dr. Chia-Ying Chang is an Associate Professor whose research focuses on artificial intelligence, computer vision, deep learning, and precision agriculture. Her research interests include intelligent image analysis, machine learning, object detection, thermal imaging, and multimodal sensing technologies for smart agriculture and livestock farming. She has led and participated in several government-funded research projects related to AI-enabled agricultural technologies. Her recent research focuses on developing intelligent monitoring systems for livestock and crop production, including pig behavior recognition, sow and piglet monitoring, phenotypic measurement and body weight prediction of pigs, mango defect detection, mushroom farm inspection, underwater shrimp monitoring, and precision aquaculture. She has extensive experience in applying state-of-the-art deep learning models, such as the YOLO series, segmentation networks, and multimodal AI frameworks, to solve practical challenges in agricultural production and animal welfare. Dr. Chang has published numerous journal articles and conference papers in the fields of artificial intelligence, computer vision, and smart agriculture. Her current research aims to integrate AI, edge computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and imaging technologies to establish intelligent decision-support systems for sustainable agriculture. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, she is committed to promoting digital transformation in agriculture by improving production efficiency, reducing labor requirements, enhancing animal welfare, and supporting environmentally sustainable farming practices.
